"Gosh, where do I even begin? This stay was frankly perfect. The view was amazing, the open-air private bath was amazing, the service was amazing, the food provided was amazing. There’s even a shuttle bus from the nearby station. I loved it. My friends loved it. The staff even ran across the whole lobby lounge from the check-in counter, and did a full dive into the souvenir store counter for us. Most memorable icecream buying experience."

"Very good location, close to Shiga station. Many eateries nearby. Walking distance to Hikone castle. Friendly staff with good English. The only downfall is that the layout of the room is rather cramped, so if you have more than 1 big luggage it might be a bit difficult to pack and unpack."

"Sehr gutes Hotel am malerischen Biwa Lake, sehr gemütlich eingerichtetes Zimmer und dazu noch sehr groß für japanische Verhältnisse, Ausblick vom Balkon auf See ist fantastisch. Frühstück ist hervorragend, das betrifft sowohl die Organisation als auch die Auswahl der Speisen und sehr freundliches Personal. Das Hotel bietet einen kostenlosen Onsen auch an, den wir täglich sehr gerne in Anspruch genommen haben, einfach herrlich. Das Hotel bietet auch kostenlosen Shuttle-Bus vom und zum Bahnhof an, dazu gibt’s im Hotel entsprechenden Zeitplan. Die Anbindung an Kyoto ist sehr gut und dauert vom Bahnhof Otsu bis Bahnhof Kyoto ca. 15 Minuten. Wir waren sehr begeistert vom Hotel und können es uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen."

"Das Zimmer war sehr gut. Das öffentliche Essen war ok; das Wasser war nicht so heiß und wie ursprünglich. Frühstücksauswahl war ok, kann besser sein und mehr Auswahl haben als Meeresfrüchte. Abendessen war großartig! Das einzige, was fehlte, ist die Lage. Es gab nichts anderes um das Hotel. 2 Tage Aufenthalt war mehr als genug. Es gab keine anderen Einrichtungen oder Veranstaltungen als ein Bad, Fuß/Handbad, glückliche Stunden."

"Room is very spacious, comes with 2 sets of facial acre products both for man and woman There's even a 6 CD player with preloaded CDs inside ranging from Jazz to sentimental songs for your relaxation Food are delicious and nicely decorated Every day it comes with some free local snacks like financiers and biscuits One incident that didn't quite went well is early morning after breakfast As we are rushing to head out before housekeeping and there's no more water in the room, we return to the dinning hall and try to ask the staff to help to fill up some water in their provided water bottle. one lady took over the bottle and head to the kitchen to fill up, but we can hear she's complaining to her colleagues about it. Shortly, while handing over the bottle, she signal us to leave. We did so but once just stepped out, she simply slams the dinning hall shut! I was surprised by her reaction. It was quite rude of her to do that. If it's against the regulation, they can rightly say so and communicate upfront than doing this repulsive reaction Overall, a nice stay amid a slight mark on the service rendered"

"We stayed two nights in the hotel with breakfast and dinner. The web page of Trip.com showed that there was onsen in the hotel but when we check in, we were told that it was a ”mistake”. There is no onsen and the photo is a public onsen half an hours away. It was very disappoining that the Trip.com include photos irrelevant to the hotel. Dinner was also diffferent from the web photo. We have to pay 2500 yen each to upgrade the dinner to shsbu shabu. Breakfast is Japanese style with limited choice. Other than these, we had lake view room and shopping mall is nearby which are the advantages."

"I was thoroughly impressed by the hotel's onsen, which offered a truly relaxing experience. The only downside is its somewhat remote location, making it a bit far from other attractions. However, this is compensated by the superb view from the room, which provides a breathtaking and serene backdrop."

"Nagahama ist der einzige Bahnhof der Hokuriku-Hauptlinie, der an den Biwa-See grenzt (Hikone und Maibara liegen nicht am Seeufer). Dieses Hotel liegt am Hafen von Nagahama, fünf Gehminuten entfernt. Die Hotelzimmer sind nach Norden und Süden ausgerichtet und bieten von allen Zimmern Seeblick. Die siebte Etage des Hotels verfügt über einen Badebereich und eine überdachte Aussichtsplattform (nach Süden ausgerichtet) mit herrlichem Blick auf den See. Die Aussicht ist morgens und abends atemberaubend, mit Blick auf den Biwa-See im Osten, Süden und Norden und den Berg Ibuki im Westen. Die Fähre zum Biwa-See und das Boot zur Insel Chikubushima sind nur wenige Schritte entfernt. Die Zimmer haben ihr Dekor aus der Zeit der Blase bewahrt und sind sehr sauber. Trotz der hohen Auslastung sind die Flure ruhig. Der Service ist tadellos; alles, was man braucht, ist vorhanden. Obwohl ich das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht empfehlen würde, ist dieses Hotel im Vergleich zu den Tausende von Yuan teuren Zimmern mit Seeblick in Otsu und Kosai, die online erhältlich sind, wirklich ein Schnäppchen. Vielen Dank für die erholsame Nacht im Hotel. Ich bin inspiriert vom Lied „Lake Biwa Cruise Song“ hierhergekommen und habe die im Text beschriebene Landschaft wirklich erlebt. Ich hoffe, dieses günstige Hotel mit Aussicht kann weiterhin bestehen."

"It was a great stay at this ryokan! The hotel is able to arrange a car to fetch you from the JR station. You can call them using a dedicated phone at the station which is used to contact the different ryokans. The car arrived in 10mins or so. The ride to the ryokan was also less than 10mins. The hotel also fetched us to the station on the last day of our stay. The ryokan itself is homely and cozy. We were greeted by an english speaking staff who introduced us to the amenities of the ryokan. There was also a nice welcome tea and matcha chocolate. Our bags were brought to our room as well during this time. The room is spacious and cozy. The hotel prepared 2 welcome biscuits in the room which was a nice personal touch. The room has a nice living room and a great view of Lake Biwa. Recommend to catch the sunrise over the lake! There are 2 normal beds as well as futon beds (need to set up yourself). Both are comfortable. The hotel also prepared pretty yukata for both female and male guests which you can wear during the stay. There are 4 different designs for ladies, and one design for the guys. You can request for different size if the one in the room doesn’t fit you. There is also a full length mirror and a mini dressing area at the side of the living room. It was fun dressing up in the yukata! The toilet, basin, shower and hot tub areas are all separate. The toilet is a little small, but the basin and mirror area is very spacious. The shower area is quite small as well and the shower head is rather low so you need to hold the shower head if you wish to wash up while standing. There is a small stool given for you to sit down though. The hot tub area is semi-outdoor and you can see Lake Biwa. But it is quite small (only good for one person). It was too cold so we didn’t use the hot tub. Instead, we booked the private onsen for 50mins. The private onsen has a private toilet and dressing area which is equipped with hairdryer, body lotion etc. There is a water dispenser as well if you need to hydrate yourself. The onsen area has a washing area, and the hot tub area is spacious for 2 person. There are privacy screens around the onsen area but there is a small gap to let in cold air for ventilation. Wish there is a good view from the private onsen but it was still enjoyable! Dinner and breakfast was Kaiseki style, and the meals were one of the highlights for my husband and I. We really enjoyed the courses which are clean tasting yet wholesome, fresh and flavourful. It was such a sumptuous treat! The ryokan also has a souvenir shop if you wish to buy anything back. Overall, my husband and I really enjoyed the stay here and we agreed this was one of the main highlights of our 12 days trip in Japan. Highly recommend!"
