[Fufu Hakone: A Luxurious Mountain Escape] Fufu Hakone is located in the quiet Gora region and seamlessly blends modern comforts with traditional Japanese ryokan hospitality. The property stands out for its unique dual hot spring experiences, providing private balcony baths with clear mineral water in every suite alongside communal pools filled with therapeutic, milky-white sulfur volcanic water. We had a wonderful one-night stay at Fufu Hakone on 28 May 2026, which included a Kaiseki dinner and breakfast. [Getting There] Our journey began with a midnight flight from Singapore, reaching Tokyo at 9:00 AM. From there, we caught the Narita Express and changed to the Tokaido Shinkansen to travel to Odawara, before making our way up to Gora. We arrived at Gora Station close to 3:00 PM to find it drizzling. Unfortunately, local taxis were completely unavailable and we could not find any vehicles on the GO app. Fortunately, we managed to get into the shelter of the tourist information centre. The lady on duty was incredibly helpful, assisting us to call Fufu Hakone for a pickup and directing us to the exact area where hotel shuttle services operate. We highly recommend that you do not attempt to walk to the resort from the station, especially in poor weather. [Arrival Experience] The moment we arrived at the resort, we were met with warm smiles and greetings. We were guided to the reception area located on the second level of the front building and seated comfortably in the lounge, where we were served hot tea. A designated staff member came over to complete our check-in process and then escorted us to our room in the guest building. The level of attentiveness was outstanding. The staff member explained every single detail in the room, including the layout of the suite, the private balcony onsen, the water temperature controls, the television, and the mini-bar, which is entirely complimentary. They also carefully went through our dinner order, taking down all of our personal preferences, likes, and dislikes. [The Suite] Our suite, named 楢の芽 (Naranome), was located on the third level. Rather than trying to describe the beautiful layout in words, I will let the accompanying photos speak for themselves. The room features two super-single beds that are incredibly fluffy and soft, with each bed featuring two plush pillows to guarantee a perfect night of sleep. The resort provided both pyjamas and a two-piece samue yukata for our stay. The pyjamas are strictly for use inside the room, while the samue yukata is intended to be worn when exploring the public areas of the property. [Dinner and Breakfast] Both the Kaiseki dinner and the breakfast were exceptional. Because many of the exquisite dishes feature seasonal ingredients that change throughout the year, please refer to my photos for a visual look at what was served during our stay. [The Ultimate Onsen Routine] To make the most of the dual hot springs, I highly recommend this routine: - Welcome Soak: Start with the light and refreshing clear mineral water on your private balcony to gently wash away travel fatigue before dinner. - Dinner and Rest: Enjoy your Kaiseki meal, then return to your suite to digest comfortably for a few hours. - Nightcap Soak: End the evening in the communal baths. The thick, milky-white sulphur volcanic water melts away muscle tension and deeply relaxes the body before sleep. [Areas for Improvement] While the stay was mostly flawless, there are two minor points to note: - Toothbrush Set: The provided toothbrush set was rather small for my liking. It felt like it took ages to finish brushing my teeth. You should definitely bring your own if this is a concern for you. - Room Attire: The two-piece samue yukata was not comfortable at all. It is not mandatory to wear it around the property, but we chose to do so anyway to fully immerse ourselves in the traditional ryokan culture.

We were looking for onsen with private bath on the balcony and probably hit the sweet spot. Unfortunately we had only 1 night stay, but it was fantastic. Onsen is located at the top station Gora, where you can get from Odawara. That’s around 2 hours from Tokyo all together, around 3 hours from Kyoto. Last 2 sections of the way are going through a picturesque steep railway. Views are great! Be sure to rush to the front or back seats (doesn’t matter which) to secure a spot for nice photographs. Private bath is fantastic, rooms are clean and spacious with a touch of ryokan style (tatami etc). That’s a perfect place to sit and relax doesn’t matter it’s sunshine or pooring rain outside. The food was fantastic (according to my wife), however the options are limited if you’re not eating fish or sea products due to allergy or other reasons. For Karaku team - I would suggest adding a signature wagyu set for those who would like something else. Selection of wine and alcohol drinks is superb. Free snacks and coffee are available till 8 p.m. as well with a view terrace. For those who like some regular conbini stuff - Lawson is around 10 mins walk with Miyazaki style trains passing by👌🏻 All in all, we wish we had stayed at least 2 nights as there are lots of activities around.  Thanks to Karaku staff for a warm welcome and tailored experience!

Ein sehr gutes Gefühl. Aufgrund vorübergehender Geschäftsänderungen musste ich dieses Mal vier Tage an einem Ort bleiben. Sowohl die Hardware als auch die Software des Hotels sind gut und auch die nahegelegene Hafenumgebung ist eine seltene Gelegenheit zum Entspannen. Der Nachteil ist, dass es aufgrund der Lage am Hafen nicht viele Restaurants in der Nähe gibt. Meistens ist es unmöglich, nach 20 Uhr einen Ort zum Essen zu finden. Das Restaurant im Hotel schließt um 9 Uhr. Glücklicherweise gibt es einen 24-Stunden-Notruf 711, auf den ich mich zwei Tage hintereinander verlassen habe. Am Tag vor meiner Abreise entdeckte ich zufällig eine Imbissstraße im zweiten Untergeschoss eines nahegelegenen Einkaufszentrums, die bis 2 Uhr morgens geöffnet war. Also nutzte er die Gelegenheit, um sich zu rächen und sich zu entschädigen. Wenn Sie es erleben, werden Sie wahrscheinlich wieder hier übernachten.

Wir nahmen gegen 16:00 Uhr den Hakone-Bus vom Gotemba Outlet nach Tenyu (Kowogen-Bahnhof) bzw. zur nächsten Haltestelle (wir betraten das Hotel durch den FamilyMart-Bereich, gingen durch den Durchgang ins Erdgeschoss und fuhren dann mit dem Aufzug in den fünften Stock zum Einchecken). Das Personal hilft Ihnen mit Ihrem Gepäck auf Ihr Zimmer. Auf dem Balkon des Zimmers befinden sich ein Schaukelstuhl und ein Thermalbad. Mein Mann und ich genossen nachmittags kostenlose Getränke, Sake und Eis in der Lobby. Abends gab es ein Buffet mit Lachs! Auch das Frühstück war ein Buffet mit Krabbenbeinen. Das Ukiun-no-Yu im sechsten Stock ist fantastisch und bietet eine wunderschöne Aussicht. Das Kuruma-no-Yu im fünften Stock verfügt über einen wunderschönen Wasserfall im Freien. Den sollten Sie unbedingt ausprobieren! Nach dem Baden können Sie sich draußen in den schwerelosen Massagesesseln entspannen. Die Fahrt zum Bahnhof Hakone-Yumoto mit dem J-Bus dauert allerdings etwa eine halbe Stunde. Während Sie auf Ihre Gäste warten, können Sie hier die Hoteleinrichtungen nutzen. In der Nähe befindet sich außerdem ein Thermalbad, was den Ort besonders für Familien attraktiv macht.

Eine komfortable und gemütliche Wahl für Reisende in Tokio, 20 Minuten vom Flughafen Haneda und wenige Gehminuten vom Bahnhof Kamasaki entfernt.

Die Lage ist fantastisch: ca. 400 m zu Fuß vom Minatomirai Bahnhof entfernt, in der Nähe des Yokohama Kunstmuseums, des Riesenrads und des Geschäftsviertels. Ideal zum Shoppen und Essen. Das Badezimmer ist in drei Bereiche unterteilt, mit Smart-Toilette, Luftreiniger und Bluetooth-Lautsprecher ausgestattet. Die Bettwäsche ist bequem und die Schallisolierung ist gut. 24-Stunden-Rezeption, mehrsprachiger Service, Gepäckaufbewahrung und kostenloses WLAN. Der Minimarkt ist etwas weiter entfernt: Der Lawson im Erdgeschoss erfordert einen kleinen Umweg.

Das Hotel ist im typisch japanischen Stil eingerichtet und die Zimmer sind recht groß. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Gemeinschaftsbad gebucht, es gab aber trotzdem eine Toilette im Zimmer, nur keine Dusche. Frühstück und Abendessen waren in unserer Buchung enthalten. Das Frühstück bot sowohl japanische als auch westliche Optionen, die sich kaum unterschieden: Das japanische Frühstück bestand aus Reis, während das westliche aus einer Scheibe Toast bestand, die an Pfannkuchenfüllung erinnerte. Das Abendessen war viel zu üppig, selbst die Kinderportionen waren genauso groß wie die der Erwachsenen. Schuhe sind im Hotel nicht erlaubt; man muss in der Lobby Hausschuhe anziehen und die Schuhe dort abgeben (ein Mitarbeiter hilft dabei). Das große öffentliche Bad verfügt auch über ein Onsen (heiße Quelle), das abends aber nicht überfüllt war. In den Restaurants ist eine Reservierung erforderlich, daher empfiehlt es sich, frühzeitig einzuchecken und im Voraus zu reservieren.

This hotel is a paradise in the mountains of Hakone! Traditional style of the rooms - it feels like you are living in a Japanese family. We were prepared a traditional dinner, which was served in our room. It was very tasty and varied! The hotel has 3 onsen: 2 - private, 1 - public. We visited only the private ones (you need to book a time in advance at the reception upon check-in, the visit time is 30 minutes). It was wonderful! The hotel also provides a transfer from and to the nearest train stations. The rooms are clean, cozy, we slept on tatami under soft blankets. The hotel has a relax room. With massage chairs and a very quiet atmosphere. We stayed in this room after visiting the onsen and got great relaxation. And you are also given national clothes for rest and sleep. It is very beautiful and cute. Breakfasts were also in kaiseki style - varied and unusual. The hotel staff is very kind and friendly. this hotel allows tattoo baths. great experience, thank you very much! want to come back again!

Das Zimmer ist riesig, was für Japan eine Seltenheit ist. Der kleine Balkon mit Blick auf den Yokohama Cruise Terminal und den Vergnügungspark bietet eine tolle Aussicht und vermittelt ein gutes Gefühl für die moderne Dynamik Yokohamas. Bei gutem Wetter ist die Achterbahn im Vergnügungspark ständig in Betrieb. Alle Attraktionen im Hafenviertel sind fußläufig erreichbar. Unten befinden sich ein Einkaufszentrum und die Minatomirai-Station, was die Anreise ebenfalls bequem macht. Allerdings kostet eine einfache Fahrt zur Yokohama Station auf dieser Linie 200 Yen, was die Reisekosten für Fahrten nach Kamakura, Yokosuka usw. etwas erhöht.

Als ich Hakone vor mehr als zehn Jahren zum ersten Mal besuchte, entschied ich mich für eine Übernachtung im Tenseien Hotel. Während der Epidemie vermisste ich die wunderschöne Landschaft und den blauen Himmel von Hakone so sehr, dass ich mich bei meiner Reise nach Hakone im November erneut für dasselbe Hotel entschied 1. Das Hotel liegt in der Nähe des Bahnhofs Hakone-Yumoto. Es wird empfohlen, nicht zu viel Gepäck zu tragen und den ganzen Weg vom Bahnhof zum Hotel zu laufen. Das Hotel hat sich in mehr als zehn Jahren nicht wesentlich verändert. Die harte Dekoration ist relativ alt, aber gut gepflegt. Der Tatami-Boden und die Tapete im Zimmer wurden ersetzt, sodass es sauber und ordentlich ist. Der Innenhof im Hintergarten des Hotels ist immer noch so schön und angenehm wie eh und je. Der exquisite und kleine Yuren-Schrein verleiht dem Innenhof eine heilige und geheimnisvolle Atmosphäre. Das Hotel hat einen japanischen Familienstil mit vielen Leuten, vielen Pools und vielen Buffetoptionen, was es sehr lebhaft macht. Nach einem Aufenthalt in vielen Privathotels und einem Familientreffen mit ein paar Freunden ist Tiancheng Garden die beste Wahl. Es gibt viele japanische Gäste im Hotel und das Personal spricht nicht sehr gut Englisch. Es ist am besten, im Voraus eine Übersetzungssoftware vorzubereiten
