Booked a room and evening meal. Check in was straightforward and receptionist was professional. Gave advice on breakfast time and where room was located. Room was spacious and thankfully not too hot. Thw bathroom had an extractor fand that kept.going about 15 mins after the light had been turned off! Bed was really comfy, not too soft and duvet was warm. Plenty of pillows :) There was 2 free bottles of water and a coffee machine with pods, I did not use this but water in a fridge was appreciated. Towels were clean and bathroom radiator was hot so towels were nice and warm. Free toiletries in the bathroom but I had taken my own so didn't use them. The lights in the hallways have motion sensors so the hallway are a bit dark when you first walk into them. The evening meal was with my work group and results varied. Most people enjoyed but personally I didn't. The soup I got was half cold and the other side of the bowl was warm. The mushroom stroganoff was lacking taste and the apple and cinnamon crumble was most cinnamon. I have eaten here before and enjoyed but was not impressed this time. It was quite busy and the staff seemed overworked as no one came to ask if we were OK or if we needed drinks and I did have to wave people over a few times. The reception area is also the bar. Its obviously a popular pub as it was crowded but maybe they should have more staff on, the same people seemed to be dealing with check in, diners and bar drinks. Just seemed a bit disorganised. The drinks here were nice and decently priced. They also do large 250ml wine, unlike a lot of places nowadays. Breakfast the next morning was great, good coffee and hot food. Check out was simple, just hand your key card back. I would stay here again but might not have the evening meal!

This hotel was located just off the motorway, and fairly easy to find. Upon arrival/check in we were informed of our room number and given our key card, however no information was provided. ie (check out times, breakfast times, any of the bar/restaurant details, pool/fitness centre details. We had to go back and forth to reception through out to get the information we needed. Fortunately the staff were friendly and welcoming which made easy to approach them. Room was nice, bit cramped even for a king privilege room. Not much space to walk, too many unnecessary chairs. Room and bathroom was clean. Mini fridge was nicely stocked up with water and soft drinks for free. TV in the room was a smart tv, allowed us to watch Netflix via screen mirroring which was excellent. Bed was comfortable with multiple pillow options. Sockets and USB charging points on both sides of the room, great for charging multiple devices. Full length mirror and cupboard space to hang up clothes. Nice gown and slippers presented neatly on the bed. We did visit the pool facilities on multiple occasions during our stay. It was just a medium size. With a separate jacuzzi and steam room and sauna. Pool water was nice temperature, slightly warm which felt really nice. Lighting in the pool area was poor, quite dimly lit. Lockers in changing area needs a padlock, as we didn’t know we didn’t take out. Some chairs are available on the pool side which we were able to put out things. Dining room was nicely laid out with ample space to move around. Breakfast had multiple options including vegetarian options available on request. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a pleasant stay. Would recommend it.

We were on a quick trip to visit Chirk Castle so Lion Quays was very convenient. Very impressed with the set up. Super atmospheric swimming pool at the nearby (2 min walk) Spa. Good meal at the Waterside restaurant adjoining the hotel. Was also impressed with the buffet style breakfast. The impressive Chirk Aquaduct and Chirk viaduct well worth a visit nearby.

Room is nice and clean. Location is great, just next to the main road. Carpark is not free, charges £5 if not booking the room through their website. Rmb not to buy their breakfast, it’s just breakfast boxes that can be bought cheaper at the hotel. It is also convenient to just have breakfast at restaurants next to the hotel. There’s no lift, so need to take luggage upstairs.

Brilliant hotel right in the town centre, easy to find just off the motorway. The swimming pool was lovely and warm with good showers and lockers. The breakfast was superb with as much as you can eat. The view from our lovely with green grass and trees. We would love to come back.

Das Hotel ist ein wenig müde und braucht Renovierung an Orten. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, vor allem angesichts der Tatsache, dass sie auf NYE arbeiten müssen! Das Zimmer war warm, die Bettwäsche/Wäsche waren sauber und das Frühstück war gut. Wir konnten während unseres Aufenthalts nicht mit WiFi verbinden, bis wir im Park waren bereit zu verlassen

Wir haben für den Sprechertag der Shrewsbury School gebucht und verlassen Ball, so dass die ganze Stadt voll gebucht wurde. Dankeschön gab es eine Suite im Lieblings-Lokalhotel. Wir brauchten ein Zimmer für 3 und das Hotelpersonal war super hilfreich bei der Befriedigung unserer Bedürfnisse. Es ist Familienbesitz und die Pflegekultur ist umfangreich. Es ist ein Hotel, wo das Personal gerne ja sagen möchte. Nicht den Charakter des Hotels selbst erwähnen. Es ist eine Mischung aus der Architektur des 12., 15. und 17. Jahrhunderts, die einen detaillierten Laden von Zimmern bildet, die den Block abdecken. Die Familie Matthews hat wirklich eine 5-Sterne-Hotelerfahrung geschaffen. Ich wurde sogar von dem Nachtwacheur ein Glas Sherry angeboten, als ich um 1 Uhr eincheckte. Ich kann dieses Hotel nicht empfehlen.

Das ist ein schöner Ort, wir blieben im „Wohnung“, das mehr als ein annehmbares Gebäude war und es hatte zwei Zimmer, von denen wir ein besetzten. Das Zimmer war gut, wir genossen Frühstück im Essensraum und das Frühstücksmenü hatte auch eine Menge Wahl, die war großartig. Es gab Optionen für ein komplettes englisches Frühstück, aber auch Optionen für Getreide und Obst usw. Wir haben uns entschieden, ein Abendessen im Hotel zu versuchen und wir waren sehr glücklich mit unserer Wahl. Das Essen war ausgezeichnete Qualität und sehr genießbar. Das Hotel ist nur einen kurzen Spaziergang ins Zentrum, sehr nahe dem Schloss, das einen Besuch wert ist und Sie können das Schloss von der Straße sehen, die Sie von dem Hotel zur Stadt gehen.

Leider habe ich im Kenthall Milbenbisse erfahren in der ersten Nacht. Eine Entschaedigung gab es nicht. Ich musste in die naechste Stufe im main Hall upgraden gebuehrenpflichtig um das Problem nicht mehr zu haben. Das Management ist mir da nicht entgegen gekommen, obwohl die Milbenbisse offensichtlich zu sehen waren auf meinem Ruecken und arm. Sauberkeit von Kenthall muss ich leider schlecht damit bewerten. Im neuen Raum in der Main Hall habe ich ein unglaubliches Zimmer bekommen mit Bad, Buegeleisen und einen unfassbaren Blick in den Garten. Der upgrade hatte sich gelohnt. Was ich nicht gut fand war , dass die lampen im begehbaren Kleiderschrank alle vom Akku leer waren, und keiner die Batterien austauschte. Auch gab es keine Klimaanlage. Ich wuerde nochmal kommen. Die Bettläuse und Milben in der Kenthall wuerde ich mehr begruessen wollen. Ich warte uebrigens immer noch auf die Rechnung fuer den upgrade.

Perfect stay for ehat we needed , furniture in our room alittle old and outdated , kettle had limescale around funnel but we didn't need to use it, but the was clean . Continental breakfast was lovely, lots of choice, also bacon, scrambled eggs and beans included. Staff very helpful, I would book to stay again .
